We’re a small company with mountains in our backyard. Inspiring you to get outside is at our core.
We couldn’t do that without our people, product, and partners protecting the planet.
Being surrounded by outdoor recreation makes us appreciate our environment every time we get outside.
From our line of water saving Solution-Dyed tents to our TwisterCane™ BioFoam pads made with sugarcane resin, to our Crag Lake tents made from recycled materials, our manufacturing, facilities’ operations, and day-to-day practices are committed to reducing our impact on the local and global environment.
With a constant eye on reuse, and three US facilities powered through 100% renewable energy offset programs, we strive to incorporate practices from design ideation to end-of-life solutions committed to protecting the outdoors. Our social impact is greater than the gear we manufacture. We partner with over 20 organizations that make meaningful change in protecting our public lands, supporting sustainable practices, and leading in equality and inclusivity.
As a business built by mountain loving folk, rain or shine, Big Agnes is committed.
Big Agnes started over 20 years ago with the goal to build better gear to get people out camping. It was a simple idea rooted in providing comfort to brave souls sleeping in the backcountry and keeping them on their sleeping pad. Who could have imagined two decades later we would be making award-winning gear, changing the sustainability game with solution-dyed tent fabrics, and helping you haul all that gear in backpacks?
The demand to enjoy, protect, and preserve the outdoors has only grown stronger. We continue outfitting and inspiring all people with the gear they need to camp in comfort, explore public lands, and have fun. Like you, we are more motivated than ever to get out on the trails and set up camp, again and again.
Based in a ski town in northwestern Colorado, our backyard is an outdoor paradise, and our testing grounds are within sight of our office. The Continental Divide Trail is home to some of our favorite trails for skiing, hiking, and mountain biking; the Mount Zirkel Wilderness beckons us with its high alpine summits. The Yampa River flows a stone’s throw from our office; and on most lunch hours the office is quiet enough to hear a pin drop while we’re out finding fresh air or fresh tracks of one kind or another.
It's simple. When you boil outdoor adventure down to its purest essence, you end up with the simple act of camping – nights spent sleeping on the ground, gazing at stars and listening to crickets are one of life's finest pleasures.
As loyal customers you continue to inspire us. You get outside, and enjoy amazing nights under the stars. We are more motivated than ever to continue innovating and reducing our environmental impact so future generations can continue exploring the backcountry in ultimate comfort.
Looking forward to the years to come, our mission has evolved, and we are ready to meet the challenges ahead. We’ll keep moving forward outfitting all people with the gear needed to camp comfortably, explore the backcountry, and have fun. We can’t wait to see you on the trail.

Our urge to sleep under the stars and breathe fresh mountain air is what continually drives us and keeps us motivated. In the end, the bluebird summits and nights spent listening to raging creeks or even highway noise have made the journey awesome, and truth be told, we wouldn't want it any other way.
