Using lightweight materials and designs, they will keep you dry without adding extra bulk or weight, leaving room for more camp comforts. While a 3-season tent has the structural strength to handle high winds or a surprise light snowstorm, if you're expecting snow on your trip you'll want to look into a burlier 4-season shelter.
